Bioclimatic Pergola

The bioclimatic pergola — a structure that reads the weather and responds to it.

Climate, Controlled.

The bioclimatic pergola is defined by its roof: a series of aluminium louvres, motorised to rotate between 0° and 135°, that manage sunlight, ventilation, and rainfall without the need to retreat inside or manually intervene. On a warm day, the louvres open to draw airflow through the space. In direct sun, they angle to shade the terrace without closing it off entirely. In rain, they close and channel water into the integrated drainage system within the profiles — silently, without pooling, and without the need for an umbrella. It is the most intelligent outdoor covering available for Irish conditions, and it is the product that makes year-round outdoor living genuinely achievable.
PRODUCT DETAIL
The louvre system operates on a single motorised axis per bay, with individual bays controllable independently or as a group. Louvre angles are programmable — scheduling sun angle compensation across the day, or setting fixed positions for standard conditions. Wind and rain sensors can be integrated to trigger automatic closure when specified thresholds are reached, protecting the space without owner intervention. The structural frame is manufactured in extruded aluminium with the same concealed drainage and powder-coat finish options as the 90° range, making it possible to combine both systems in a single installation where the site demands it. Heating, lighting, audio, and lateral zip screen or glazed infill systems are all compatible with the bioclimatic frame.

INTELLIGENT CONTROL — Motorisation is not an option on the bioclimatic pergola — it is the product. The louvres are the mechanism through which the structure works, and their motorised rotation is what makes the system genuinely responsive rather than manually adjusted. Control is available via wall-mounted switch, remote handset, dedicated app, or full smart home integration. For commercial installations, the system can be integrated with building management or environmental monitoring platforms. The result is a structure that manages itself to the conditions, leaving you to simply use the space.
