Commercial
MS Design brings architectural precision and professional-grade specification to commercial environments across Northern Ireland and beyond.
Built for Business. Designed Without Compromise.
Commercial spaces demand more. More from the surfaces underfoot, more from the systems overhead, more from the finishes that define the atmosphere of a place experienced by hundreds of people every week. Where domestic projects are shaped by personal taste, commercial projects are shaped by footfall, function, trading hours, and the expectations of guests, clients, and customers who form an instant impression the moment they walk through the door. MS Design operates at this level — not as a domestic supplier scaling up, but as a design-led commercial partner that understands specification, project management, and performance-grade installation from the outset. Every product we specify, every system we install, is selected for the demands of a commercial environment.
WHY MS DESIGN FOR COMMERCIAL?
The difference between a commercial fit-out that works and one that falls short within twelve months comes down to the quality of the decisions made at specification stage. MS Design brings design authority to the commercial brief — we understand materials, finishes, and shading systems at a level that translates into intelligent product selection, not simply product supply. We manage commercial projects from initial site survey through to final commissioning, coordinating install programmes that respect your trading schedule and minimise disruption. And when the job is done, the quality of the finish speaks for itself.
Commercial Project Approach
01 SURVEY
Every commercial project begins on-site. Our team conducts a full site survey before any specification is proposed — understanding the structure, the environment, the existing services, and the practical constraints that will shape the right solution. This is not a sales visit. It is a working assessment.
02 DESIGN
From the survey, we develop a design and specification proposal that resolves the brief into a concrete scheme. For shading and pergola projects, this includes structural layouts, system configurations, fabric and finish selections, and motorisation strategy. For decor and flooring, it includes surface selections, finish samples, and installation methodology. The proposal is precise and actionable — not a mood board.
03 SPECIFICATION
Commercial projects require the right products for the right environment. We specify at this stage — not to a budget, but to a performance and design standard — ensuring that what is installed is what the environment genuinely demands. For motorised systems, specification includes control architecture, BMS integration requirements, and sensor configuration.
04 INSTALLATION
Our installation teams work to a programme agreed with the client before work begins. For trading premises, we plan around service hours, scheduling works to minimise disruption to operations. We coordinate all trades involved in the installation and take full responsibility for the quality and timing of the completed installation.
05 COMMISSIONING
For motorised shading, automated control systems, and integrated venue environments, commissioning is a dedicated stage — not a footnote. Every motor, sensor, and control point is tested, calibrated, and signed off. Operational handover includes full instruction for staff and, where applicable, documentation for maintenance and BMS integration.
