Glass Doors

Glass door systems — opening the building to the outside without architectural compromise.

The Threshold, Removed.

A glass door system in an outdoor structure is not simply a method of access. It is the element that determines whether a pergola is a summer shelter or a year-round room — whether the space it creates is a true extension of the interior or a space that is closed off from it six months of the year. At MS Design, we specify glass door systems that are engineered for permanent outdoor installation: thermally broken frames, stainless or powder-coated hardware, toughened or laminated safety glazing, and a quality of operation that does not degrade with exposure to the elements. Sliding, folding, or pivot configurations are all available and are selected for the scale of the opening, the operational preference, and the architectural character of the structure.
PRODUCT DETAIL
Sliding glass door systems suit wide openings where the full panel retracts to a stacking bay at one or both ends, creating an unobstructed threshold between the pergola and the interior or garden. Folding systems suit openings where the folded panel stack needs to be contained within the structural bay — a corner position, or where access width is constrained. Pivot systems suit a single, architecturally prominent door panel where the rotation movement itself is part of the design intent. All systems use toughened safety glass as standard, with laminated options available for applications where overhead or security considerations apply. Slim-line aluminium frames are available in the full RAL powder-coat palette, and concealed drainage beneath the threshold manages water ingress without visible channels or raised profiles.

INTELLIGENT CONTROL — Motorised sliding glass door systems remove the physical effort from the operation of large, heavy panels — and create the possibility of the space opening itself as part of a wider automation sequence. A pergola with motorised louvres, motorised screens, and motorised glass doors can be opened, shaded, ventilated, and configured entirely from a single command — removing the series of manual steps that would otherwise accompany preparing an outdoor space for use. For commercial applications, access control integration with the motorised door system adds a security and operational management layer that manual systems cannot provide.
