Arm Awning
The arm awning — projecting shade over terraces, bifold doors, and glass facades.
Shade, On Demand.
The arm awning is the most versatile exterior shading solution available for residential and commercial use. A motorised cassette housing a fabric roll deploys on two articulated arms, projecting shade over a terrace, bifold door run, or glazed facade without the need for posts or fixings at the leading edge. When retracted, the fabric is enclosed within the cassette, protected from UV and weather degradation. When deployed, it creates a shaded zone of the precise width and projection required — and adjusts to any angle from near-horizontal to steeply pitched. It is the shading system of choice for large glazed openings and active outdoor dining areas, and when paired with heating under the projection, it extends the usable season of an outdoor space considerably.
PRODUCT DETAIL
Our arm awning range covers single-span widths from 2m to 6m and beyond through linked or coupled systems, making it the right solution for everything from a modest kitchen door opening to a full-width bifold facade. Arm geometry is specified for the projection required — standard arms cover a range of 1.5m to 3.5m projection from the wall — and the cassette profile is available in full-box closed options for maximum fabric protection, or semi-cassette for a lower-profile installation against slimmer fascias. Fabric selection spans solution-dyed acrylic in a wide range of plains, stripes, and textures — all UV-stabilised, waterproof to a working angle, and rated for years of outdoor exposure. Hardware is powder-coated in the full RAL range to coordinate with the building or wider exterior palette.
Available in:
- Post-free projection — no ground fixings or leading-edge posts; shades the space without structural intervention
- Wide-span capability — single-piece spans to 6m and coupled systems for wider openings
- Full-box and semi-cassette options — fabric fully enclosed when retracted for maximum longevity
- Variable pitch — angle adjusted from near-horizontal to steeply pitched for direct overhead sun or glare management
- Solution-dyed acrylic fabric — UV-stabilised, colour-fast, and waterproof at working pitch across a wide pattern range
- Full RAL hardware finish — cassette, arms, and brackets coordinated with the building exterior

⚡ INTELLIGENT CONTROL — A motorised arm awning responds to conditions rather than requiring you to respond to the conditions. Wind sensors retract the awning automatically when gusts exceed the specified threshold — protecting the fabric and the fixings without intervention. Sun sensors deploy it when solar gain reaches a set level, creating shade before the room heats rather than after. For south-facing facades with large glazing, this level of automated response means the system is working for the building’s thermal comfort throughout the day, not simply when someone remembers to operate it. Control is available via wall switch, remote, app, or full smart home integration.
