Standard awnings compromise in wind. The Click Zip does not. A zip-guided fabric system — where the fabric edge runs within a perimeter channel on all four sides of the opening — eliminates the billowing, flapping, and stress that unguided fabrics experience in exposed conditions. The result is a shading and screening system that holds flat at any pitch, in wind conditions that would require a standard awning to retract, and that creates a weather-resistant perimeter enclosure when deployed at or near vertical. It is the system of choice for elevated terraces, exposed facades, and any application where wind performance is a genuine site requirement rather than a theoretical consideration.
PRODUCT DETAIL
The Click Zip system operates on a motorised cassette with fabric that deploys into aluminium guide rails fixed at the sides of the opening. The zip element — a cord stitched into the fabric edge that locks into the guide channel — keeps the fabric under consistent lateral tension regardless of the deployment angle, eliminating movement even in sustained wind. Span widths can be considerable — single systems cover openings of up to 6m or more, and multiple systems can be configured side by side to address full-width glazed facades or pergola perimeters. The system is equally at home as an overhead shade at a low pitch or a vertical privacy and weather screen at 90°, and the transition between positions is managed by the motorised cassette without adjustment to the guide rail system. Fabric options follow the same UV-stabilised solution-dyed acrylic range as the wider shading family, with the addition of technical mesh options for specific solar performance requirements.

⚡ INTELLIGENT CONTROL — The Click Zip is a motorised system by nature — the zip guide mechanism is inherently suited to the precision and consistency of motorised deployment, where manual operation would introduce uneven tension across the fabric width. Wind sensor integration is available and recommended for exposed installations: the system tracks conditions and retracts or deploys to pre-set positions automatically, extending the operational window of the space without requiring owner awareness of the weather. Control follows the same platform options as the wider MS Design range — wall switch, remote, app, or smart home integration.
